ATT Uverse
NO DVR Recording for HBO Internet

We recently became Uverse subscribers and are generally very happy with the service. However, there was no prior warning that HBO does not allow recording of their programming by Uverse customers through the desktop DVR box. (unlike Direct TV or other broadcast providers)

This is obviously a big pain in the ass since nobody makes it a point to be home at X o'clock to watch their favorite show anymore. This isn't the 60's after all!

I have not been able to find any information in regard to this shortcoming at either ATT or HBO's web site. If I had known this in advance I would have stayed with Direct TV.

Customer service at Uverse acknowledges that the service is not available and indicates that "they are working on it". At this point I am going to drop HBO from my package since the value is not there unless I can watch when I want, either movies or series.
