Pay phone credit card ripoff scam

I recently was stuck at the Atlanta Hartsfield airport and my cell phone was dead. I was stuck for almost 24 hours. I used these payphones that firmly state that if you use a credit card the phone call will be charged at the same rate as an AT&T calling card charge to call the airline 800 number my friend in atlanta and my husband in ohio. I had to make 6 or 7 phone calls.

Imagine my suprise when i started seeing these phone calls which were for usually less than 5 minutes apear on my credit card. The cheapest one so far was $11.97. I called the customer service line and was told these charges were correct. The rates were never given to me and I never spoke to an operator, these were direct calls. Customer service did refund $11.96 but since i made about seven phone calls this is a drop in the bucket.

I am an educated individual and had I known this I would simply have bought a phone card at one of the stores for much less than this. This is the biggest ripoff scam I have seen and I cannot believe passengers subjected to long delays are again put through misery when they see their phone bills. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau in atlanta and making several phone calls to the airport. I am also aware that what the phones say on them is distinctively false advertisement.
