Don't Waste Your Money on Buying a Basic TV Installation

We purchased the installation online and, according to the brochure, would be contacted in 2-3 days to schedule the appointment. After the 5th business day we contacted Costco who referred us to their vendor (Install Inc). According to the vendor they called our cel. Phone on a Sunday afternoon and we didn't answer.

I was surprised to hear they worked on Sundays. I told her our cel. Phone didn't indicate any missed calls and asked why they didn't leave us v-mail. She didn't have an answer other than she didn't make the call and that's what our records showed. Their credibility disappeared at that point. Nonetheless, I scheduled the appointment.

On the appointment day, I took time off from work and waited, and waited, and waited. About an hour after the appointment time I called and the installer said he was running late. He got there over 4 hours later.

Notice, I said he. The intallation was for a 2-person team. Only one person showed up and so we had to help him carry the t.V. We were not going to allow him to carry our new big screen t.V.By himself.

The installation was also supposed to include connection of our existing equipment and programming of the remotes. That wasn't done either.in fact, we finished making the audio connections that he didn't know how to do and reprogrammed the 3 remotes that he forgot.

At this point we are clearly upset. The technician was professional, but he was late. We had to help with the setup and complete the installation. We had no clue why we had bothered to purchase this "service" from Costco.

We wrote to them online several times. After the 6th time, we finally got someone's attention and the initially offered to reimburse us $10. They generously increased that to $25. We paid $90 for the installation which means even with the partial refund, we're still out $65 and had to do our own setup.

Save yourself the headaches and buy yourself a nice dinner instead.
