Item arrived broke and was not at all what was expected, cheap and shoddy, no return

I ordered this item for my child for christmas. It arrived broke the screen cover. I played with the item and it was very cheap and the wording on it was in chinese, no instructions included. So I contacted immediately same day as received that I would like to return. They said they would fix. I explained item was not to my satisfaction and would like a refund they don't do refunds they fix. If I insisted a 20% restock because they had to sell used merchandise. I returned with a bubble envelope for added protection because it arrived in a plain manila envelope. About two or three weeks later an email which was today was received that said unit arrived smashed file claim with post office. So they never intended to return any money. I filed a claim with paypal the next day after they said they would not refund and they too denied the claim.

I am a single mom with two and can't afford the loss but I want to warn others being I don't foresee getting my money back because they have a shoddy business not to purchase any electronic equipment, MP4 players or nothing from them.
