I tried to by a nikon 12-24mm f4 camera lens for $579 which would be a very good price.

1. I placed the order for the nikon 12-24 f4 DX camera lens on the expresscameras.com WEB page using my AMEX card.
2. Then they sent an email with an phone number to call to confirm the online order.
3. I called and was advised that they do not accept AMEX
(their WEB site clearly says it does)
4. They asked for a different credit card (which I gave them - my mistake)
5. They then tried to switch me to a SIGMA 10-20MM lens for $879
(this lens can easily be purchased for under $500 almost anywhere)
6. I told them I wanted the nikon 12-24mm f4 lens as adverticed.
7. I was then told by the salesman (Pete) that the nikon 12-24mm f4 DX lens was not digital ready.
I then stated that the nikon 12-24 f4 DX lens is a DX lens meaning - digital only.
8. I was also told that the advertised lens has a plastic mount and I would have to throw in $200 for a metal mount.
I then stated that the nikon 12-24 f4 DX lens only has a metal mount
(there are no plastic mount lenses of this model).
9 I was told that the auto-focus search motor was noisy on this model.
I then stated that every review I read commented on how silent the motor on this lens is.
10. The saleman then recommended I buy the nikon 14-24 f4 VR for $1000 more
11. I cancelled the order and they immediately hung up.
This is a clear case of "bait and switch". They had no intention of selling the camera lens at the advertised price
