Misrepresentation of product lying poor customer service and no respect for customer Ripoff

My 23 year old son purchased a 48 in plasma tv open box from circuit city based on the information that it was a store model. He paid 500.00. It ended up not having the remote or the mounting bracketts that it was suppose to so the store manager allowed the circuit city protection plan at no additional cost. When he got it home and turned it on it had streaks of red and green going up and down the side. He went back to the store and one of the sales persons told him that it was an employees tv who had it at home and he had had the same trouble and just put black tape along the side to cover it up.

Naturally my son wanted to bring the tv back and get a different one. All he wanted was a similar tv that worked. Did not have to be brand new. His other option was to send it for repair and have a loaner because he had already sold his TV. Of course this was not possible. According to Circuit City he could get a 500.00 credit toward a different TV. He tried calling the district manager. He called a dozen different places and was forwarded to the district manager who ended up being a store employee at Encinitas store who lied and said she was the district manager. He tried the customer service in Virginia and finally after 2 weeks he got a call back and the agent was totally rude and unreasonable.

I was trying to let him handle this but i had to get involved. I thought he was getting no respect because of his age. Well guess what the customer service rep hung up on me and would not give me her name and said that the supervisors and managers above her did not take calls from customers. I ended up calling the Escondido store who trains managers and they called the manager at Encinitas who finally called me back. We went in and took his broken tv back and ended up with the tv in the break room. We had to pay an additional 200.00. After a month of hassel we settled because i was sick of it all. I still have not heard from the district manager and after 3 or 4 long emails to customer service I still have not recieved an apology or acknowledgement. I will never buy from circuit city again.
