Scam? Ripoff

I was approached by a couple of guys in an suv in a inner city neighborhood and asked if I wanted to buy speakers. I looked at them and they looked great. They asked 600 dollars for them, but I told them I wasn't willing to pay anywhere near that. I ended up paying 200, but when I got home I started being suspicious that they were stolen.

I was going to call the police, but I got online and looked them up. It seems others have had the same experience. I haven't heard them yet, but they were brand new in the boxes. I read another guys report though and he said they sound great. I guess Im confused...
