$50 Rebate on DVD VCR Recorder Refused Twice Over Missing Receipt

Purchased a Sony DVD / VHS recorder with a $50 rebate from Sony. Bought at Circuit City. Sent in rebate form with all paper work required.

4 weeks later got a card saying refused, because all rules were not followed. Called the phone # on card, and was told receipt was not there???

Called Circuit City and they faxed me a copy of receipt. Mailed this in, waited 4 weeks, and went on web site,

To find status. E-mailed help line, and was e - mailed that no receipt could be found on 2nd submittal?
Ripoff.
