Refused rebate ripoff

I submitted all required forms, receipts and proofs of purchase (serial number and UPC barcode) for Samsung's $50 monitor REBATE 4 days after purchase.
Over 2 months later I received a postcard from Samsung. It said my submission was invalid because of a missing original UPC. I contacted Samsung (after many tries) and I explained that I did send the UPC and could provide a photocopy of everything sent. All they would keep saying is that I needed to submit the original UPC. Since I can't resend the original (which they have) I am apparently stuck.
This is way too easy for Samsung to just simply say "We didn't get it" and thereby not honor their advertised rebate. What a ripoff.
