Ripoff consumers over the country are having the same problems

I sincerely wish I had read this post before I wasted my money at Circuit City. I see all over the country people are having the same problems as I. I also see a possible CC employee blasting everyone. Get a life. Realize Circuit City is a rip off artist.

On May 11 I purchased a Sony Cyber-Shot camera at the Brick town location. The camera was $399. Plus a 3-year extended warrantee and a memory card. That day I dropped a lot of money at this store.

For the last 3 functions I attended, of the 66 photos I took 4 are clear and usable. Today I called and visited the Brick location. During the call the young man told me I had a 3-year warrantee and I would be able to get a replacement. I drove over the store and spoke with your Sony representative. We picked out a nicer Sony camera. This sale would have cost me an additional $200.00. He then directed me to the service desk. That was when I spoke with a very confused young lady who didn't know what to do. She ran to other staff members for advice. Then she told me I needed to send back the camera and the turnaround time was 2 weeks. I asked for a manager. He passed me off to another person who seemed to know cameras. This person called the tech support line and it was determined after an hour of trouble shooting there was nothing wrong with this camera. So Tech Support closed the case. I left the store with a sour taste in my mouth.

When I arrived home I immediately called tech support, another hour on the phone. I was able to get the warranty company to reopen the case and assign this repair to a Third Party repair company.

What happened when I purchased this camera and was told if ever it breaks we'll take care of the problem by replacing the camera? Was that told to me just to make a sale? That's dirty.

After seeing Best Buy's handling of a warranty issue on my sons 2 year old abused IPOD last week. (A compete NO HASSLE exchange) and now seeing how Circuit City deals with warranty issues. Why would I ever spend another dime at Circuit City? Best buys rocks
