Ripoff dishonest billing after 2 year contract expired

Electronics and household app.

I was under contract with Sprint PCS for two years. After the contract ran out I continued with them on a month to month basis for just over a year.

On March 28 I called customer service to cancel my service and was offered a "deal" to stay with Sprint PCS. I told Cusomer (non) Service I would think it over and let them know. However, I wanted them to turn off my phone immediately. The CSR said that I had gone about 6 days past my last billing date and that she was going to have to charge me a "full" month ($121.14) as it was company policy not to prorate but to charge a full month if I hadn't discontinued my service "on time".

I tried to explain to her that I was on a month-to-month basis and that I wasn't under a written contract of any kind. This was like talking to my 14 month old granddaughter, it just went over her head.

My phone was cut of within 60 second of my hanging up the phone.

A few days later I received a call from collections saying my bill was now $275.00. I told them I had canceled and the phone had been cut-off. I was told that my phone had not been cut-off just suspended and that they had no record that it had been cut-off and that they would continue to add to my bill until I "officially" called the right department and canceled.

I have since been contacted (on a Sunday afternoon no less) and told my bill ws now $375.37 however, they had applied a credit of $100.00 along with the tax charges of $15.66 bringing my total down to $279.71.

I mailed a personal check in the amount of $121.14 (the original amount I was told I owed) since they wouldn't prorate my monthly bill. I marked on the memo section of the check "full and final payment". I sent it Certified return receipt requested.

I received the delivery receipt today May 2. However, I haven't seen whether the check has been deposited and sent through my account yet.

Also, when I told them about the "special" I had been offered they said they could not find a record of it in anywhere in my file. I had been told by the first CSR that the offer would be entered into the computer and be good until April 21.

I have since called collections, customer (non) service, and emailed them my complaints. I have asked to be connected to their legal department they gave me an 800 number as they said they couldn't connect me (legal was in another department).

All this is like dealing with total morons (however, I think that this is SOP and that they (CSR and Supervisors) are brainwashed to react this way to any complaint what-so-ever).

I am more than willing and ready to join in any class action lawsuit against these clowns.
