Another victim of billing fiasco

My husband opened up an account for me back in Feb. Of 2000.By Oct. 2000 I was no longer receiving bills from them. Every time I called their customer service line, I was on hold for 20-30 min. At a time (for a week in a row and at different times) and never got through to a "live" person.

I went through every prompt option to see if they provided a payment address since it's not on any of their statements once you mail in the payment portion. This phone served as my business phone and was abruptly interrupted during the busiest time of work. I tried frantically again to get through to them to clear up my balance but to no avail.

It was very frustrating, time consuming and just ridiculous! I finally heard from them through their first collection agency, Dun & Bradstreet, which wanted me to pay up $400 w/o any itemized statements, reasons, etc. I disputed the case asking for an itemized list of calls but to no avail. This was in Aug. Of 2001.

On Feb. 5, I got a call from their second collection agency, Sunrise Credit Services, saying that if I didn't pay the full amount then it will be reported on my husband's credit report. I ended up paying $100 as I am still disputing the rest of the amount but this will show up on my husband's credit report.

I am so ANGRY, FRUSTRATED and very willing to petition for a class action suit. I was so shocked and relieved to see that there were so many other reports against MCI Worldcomm. This confirmed for me that THEY SCREWED UP and unfortunately they do not value their customers. I would like to know where to go from here because I paid a portion of my bill and though we both have very good credit, I'm very angry that this will show up on my husband's report.
