Want support? Epson will give you a dial tone.
Purchased an Epson ET-2850 on October 28, 2025 for $264.99 + tax. By the end of April, the paper feeder was broken. After extensive testing with an Epson support tech on May 1, 2026, he determined the printer was defective and sent me a list of pictures needed in order to replace the unit. After sending the pictures, I heard nothing from Epson. Attempted calls to the mainline and emails to the support address went to a recorded message that said to submit inquiries only online. Countless online and email inquiries were met with radio silence.
On June 18, I finally got a hold of a live person. After explaining the situation and getting nowhere, he said he would transfer me to a manager. The "manager," who didn't seem to know his company at all or who to contact to check on my situation, asked to place me on a brief hold to look into it. The line was promptly disconnected.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, I called back. 45 minutes of being told I was getting "VIP service," and my continued politeness to the technician, ended with a less knowledgeable tech and being hung up on again.
The third time, I was very direct but professional. Yet hours on the phone with Epson resulted in learning that Epson knows little about their own company, and being hung up on a third time that day, once again as we were getting close to finding out why Epson, knowing their machine was under warranty, refuses to honor their warranty (intentional? Seems like it). Unfortunately, my June 18th experience sums up my continued dealings with Epson: rude, or radio silence.
Having a printer completely break down within 6 months, after printing less than 100 pages, is bad. Refusing to honor warranties and treating customers in a manner that middle schoolers would be ashamed of is embarrassing for Epson. I hope there is an honorable person left at Epson who can make this right, and I highly recommend choosing a different company for your tech needs.
