Ripoff, took money out of bank acct without sending a bill

University of Phoenix should be investigated by the Feds like any other organized crime organization. What they do is a crime; they lie, cheat and steal money from people trying to better them selves through education.

I have read many of the other reports by people on this site unfortunately too late for me.

My story is not different from anyone else's it seems. Which tells me that they are notorious for cheating people on a daily basis? I was bullied into signing up before I was ready with the promise of waiving the $110 admissions fee.

I took the so called Gen 300 class which was a joke. I had a death in the family during this class and called to ask for a few days off, they said yes but I would have to check in every day for my loan money.

When I signed up I was assured that my loans would cover the tuition I explained I was out of work to the admissions/salesperson and had no disposal able income. She wanted my card number and I told her there was no money in the acct she assured me it would not be used it was just needed for paperwork.

I agreed like an idiot! So they got my number. Before the end of the first so called class I was getting a bill for $800 for my third class. I was not even done with my first class. I called and said I will take no other classes until the matter was cleared up. I waited for 3 weeks for help in clearing the matter.

The matter was they used my tax return from 2 years prior so I did not get the aid I was due as I have been out of work for the past 18 months. They said they would file an amended request for aid with the correct tax return and I should just concentrate on my class.

I passed the class with an A - although I learned nothing. I found a new school that is a real school with real people that help you and classes that you learn things in, go figure! I have had the same thing happen to me as has happened to others. Counselors changed at least a dozen times along with financial aid counselors changed etc. Etc.

It's like the shell game to keep you guessing or hoping you get fed up and give up. End result I stopped a payment for $625 once to my acct only to have it charged again and I still do not have a bill for a break down of charges. I am over drawn and still out of work. I clean house's to get by and now I am overdrawn to the tune of $625.

My new school has gotten me the aid I needed but the stress of this is affecting my grades in my new school. Someone needs to stop them from doing this to people. I don't understand how they can get away with this so often. Please do not let them affect anyone's decision to go back to school.

I went back because I could not find work so I thought it would be a good time to get my degree. Don't know what to do now, and I still do not have a bill. UOP is a bunch of crooks.
