Ripoff scam

I was woken up from a nap by a phone call on 10/26 at 6pm on my cell phone from an "unknown" number with a man with an Indian accent. He alleged that he was from the "Federal Grant Processing Center" and said I was eligible for a $8000 grant.
Out of pure stupidity I proceded to give him my checking account info. Right after that, I looked them up on the web and found out they were a scam. So I told him I am not interested any more, I attempted to expose them by asking them some questions and here are some of the answers he gave me. "There is only one government in the US and that is who we are.", "I could have hung up on you if this was a fraud right after you gave me your checking account but I didn't".
After I started to tell this man with an Indian accent that i wasn't interested, he started to get frustrated with me and it was at this time I realized he started to record our conversation by a beep in the back ground. He proceeded to aske me the following question, "So if you don't take advantage of this opportunity, you will lose your ability in the future to apply for federal grants, are you ok with that?" I told him yes and I heard another beep then he said "You said yes" and then hung up on me. Obviously this was a scam so I called my bank and closed my account immediately.
Just be careful out there! I see that they have been doing this for a long time now looking at all the other reports on this website. I wonder why the Government haven't caught them yet. I hope they do!
Another note is the first time I called Bank of America to do take care of the situation, they told me that there is nothing I can do until tomorrow morning when I can walk into a branch to close my account. I asked them if someone could pull the money out tonight and they said yes. They told me that they couldn't do anything until the money was pulled and then I can file a fraud report. So I hung up and called again, and this time the new person transfered me to somenoe who on the phone instantly helped me close my account on the spot. So don't take no for an answer with these banks!
