Federal Government Grant Research And Guide Center
College Grant Scam, Checking Account Scam ripoff

Education & Science

I awoke my first month at college to hear my phone ringing. A woman with a noticable accent, probably Indian, explained that I had been selected to recieve a federal government grant for $8000.

At first, the sounds in the background made it sound as if one of my friends was pulling a prank on me. The premise was suspicious, so I quickly got on the internet and searched for the group she said she was calling from - the "Federal Government Grant Research and Guide Center", what I thought was an awfully complicated name for a student grant institution. Sure enough, she asked if I had an open checking account and I knew that it couldn't be true. Quite a rude awakening for a first year college student away from home.
