Government Grant Processing Center tried to SCAM me! Rip-off!

I got a call at work by a girl with an indian accent telling me the government is giving me a grant of $8,000. Immediately i was skeptical. She started to recite my address (asking me to verify it). I told her i don't want to verify anything, i was about to hang up but i was curious as well. I asked her why the government is giving me money. She said i'm receiving money because i pay my taxes on time. I told her "but everyone pays taxes, what's the catch? Because the government doesn't just give you money"

She couldn't explain, she just kept repeating that i was getting $8,000. So, I asked her again what the company name is, so while on the phone i typed it on google and a consumer complaints from this site came up. I told her " you're scamming me!" and started reading to her the report from the site. She couldn't explain so i told her not to call me again.
