Consumer Grants - Customer Care Plus
I was tricked into answering yes to a question in which the answer was most definately NO! Rip-off!

Education & Science

I had reserched a bit on how to get a government grant, giving my name, email, and phone number at several different points. When I got the call from Customer Care Plus i thought that it might have been a reply to an inquiry. Curious, i stayed on the line and gave information that i thought i had well safe-gaurded.

The telemarketer tells me to "answer yes or no to the following questions." a recorded message begins asking me questions and recording my answers. Here comes the big question... $249 will be debited to your account... Do you agree? I remained silent. The phone representative comes back to the line and says my name, "Paul", naturally i say "yes". The line switches back to the next question of the recording.

Presto, i've been robbed of $249. The remedy suggested by Consumer Care Plus?: close your bank account. I called back to sort things out and they allowed me to listen to the recording as they too listened...$249 will be debited to your account... Do you agree?"paul", "yes"..."did you here that?", i said. "yes, but it could go either way", he tells me. I file a billing extention, cancelation request, and close my account. Case closed.
