Ripoff hiring procedure

I answered an ad in the Richmond Times Dispatch that basically said: Factory Outlet End of Summer. We need 20 people to help w / End of Summer rush! Full time hours or more, Perm or temp placement, nice bonuses. Call us immediately. We need help in set up & display, advertising & customer service. Start training this week. No exp.

So I called and got an "interview", they were 4 other people at the same interview, because "they must have overbooked" Amazingly I got hired! The man said I could do much better than data entry... I could be a manager!!! Well the training consisted of a Kirby vacuum cleaner and how to put it together and take it apart. There were people constantly coming and going out of the training room. I was turned off as soon as they brought that vacuum cleaner out and even more so when I heard the word telemarketing. They said they set up the appts for you. I didn't believe that for 1 minute...

I called my husband during the lunch break and he told me that when he was 18 he fell for the same thing. And he said he knew I wouldn't like it. So I left and didn't come back. The man just called my house and spoke to my son. ANd said they had other openings and I could still be a mgr. I feel like I wasted a whole day that could have been better used for looking for "real" jobs. So beware, if it sounds too good to be true, than it is.

The interviewer was also doing the training and the ad said 20 people, he said they need 35 mgrs and in the "training" class they needed 65! I guess the only thing he can count is how much he makes off of anyone dumb enough to fall for this scam
