Ripoff Owes hundred of thousands of dollars to many people, borrowed from and exploited recovering addicts Carmel

I am writing this report mainly because an internet seach of Marc Adler only turns up a musician who is NOT the person I am referring to, and I feel that many people who either have already been ripped of by him or may be considering loaning him money might want to do an investigation of him. Hopefully this will turn up on a search and get them started.

I first loaned money to Marc in 2000 (when I was 19 years old). It was a very naive move on my part, loaning him $10,000 for some "company" he was running that bought used computer equipment and sold it to other companies for a profit. The interest he was to pay me on it was to good to be true (looking back) but he paid a few times nontheless. I should also mention that I met Marc through my uncle, who is a recovering addict, and later learned that Marc was his AA sponsor.

To this day Marc has never paid me back my original investment, and after he fell off the map this last time (no returned emails or instant messages, phone disconnected YET again).

In that time he himself has fallen off the wagon several times and dissappeared and reappeared, promising to pay back what he owes me. His address and phone number have constantly changed without notice, but every time I find him he acts like a changed man who is always "right about to recieve a substantial investment."

His latest venture has been to start a clinic of sorts in Carmel, California. At first I heard it would be to treat victims of injuries that have resulted in amputations or other losses of limbs (Marc himself lost a leg in a car accident many years ago), who suffer psychological problems as a result. I've also heard it was to be a Betty Ford type of clinic, helping recovering addicts.

Anyone who has come in contact with Marc Adler should know a few things. Much of the cash he borrowed in the past came from drug sellers/users (my uncle would be an example).in fact one person that Marc owes substantially more to than myself has told me his best friend, who loaned Marc money, is now serving a lengthy prison sentance for drug violations.

In all, he owes hundred of thousands of dollars, and should NOT be trusted with any sort of major loan for this supposed clinic. Marc Adler is a chronic liar, a manipulator, and has a way of selling people on his ideas and making them think their payment is on the way. He supposedly was to recieve an insurance settlement for his missing leg that was to be in an excess of a million dollars, but to this day owes many people money.

I have a signed contract from him, bounced checks, emails and the contact info of others that can validate my story.

I've lost hope for my money, considering how much he owes others compared to myself, but if I can help anyone else recover funds from him or at least keep more people from loaning him cash, that is a consolation.
