City-Wide Services
Advance Loan Fee Scam! Rip-off!

Education & Science

Beware of City-Wide Services. They are really good at making you believe they are a legal company. A friend gave me the phone number and had already started the process to get a loan for $25,000 and suggested that I call them. I was scared at first that this was a scam and should have listened to my gut feeling, but then I gave in.

I thought I had researched the company really well before I sent them $1037.92 for an escrow account. This was equal to two monthly payments for my $25,000 loan. Needless to say the pre-approval that was performed in my first phone conversation with Kelly Watson, went right out of the window as soon as they received my money. I sent the application package and money orders by overnight mail and required a signature thinking I am covering myself.

Mike Randall became my customer service rep that was taking care of my loan. He kept putting me off and telling me my paperwork was not back from the verification process. The only time he ever tried to call me was the day he was calling me to tell me that I had been turned down because my credit listing on my application did not match a credit report, that I had to overnight to them also, exactly to a tee. But out of the goodness of his heart, he was going to send me my $1037.92 back to me, plus the cost of both overnight postage rates, and the cost to me for the credit report I had to get.

In all, I was suppose to be getting back $1075.00 except the check could not be mailed out untill the 20th of the month. This is where the conflicting stories began to come out and made me check the internet about them again. This time the BBB of Indiana had a report on them. They were a advance load fee scam and the address was a mail drop box. The mail was being forwarded to Canada.

The BBB had in its report to contact the Phone Busters. When I placed my complaint with the Phone Busters, I found out that there were 4 other complaints logged in. Since May 18, I have been able to talk to someone at City-wide services. The other fifty phone calls were answered by an answering machine and I was only able to leave about 4 messages because the phone mail stays full.

Phone Busters requested that I send them copies of all paperwork that I have so they can use it in their case. I have even received copies of the signatures for the overnight packages from the post office. I have contacted the FTC, BBB and the Postal Inspectors office and filed complaints. I have also immediately placed a fraud alert on at the 3 credit bureaus.

If anyone else out there has been scamed by these people, please contact Phone Busters at 1-888-495-8501 and file a complaint. You will have to sit on hold for a while to talk with someone but it is worth it. They will provide you with a case number and an 800 fax number to fax anything you have on City-Wide Services. I should have know it was too good to be true, but sometimes in desparate times, folks do desparate things in hopes of making dreams come true. Mine was to pay off a bunch of bills and get a fresh start.

Please report these people!!!
