I responded to a full page ad in Small Business opprtunity magazine on 04/12/04 The title: USE ME AND GET RICH, The ad said that for $28.00 plus $5.00 shipping they would send me information on how to make money and if I diden't make money that they would send me a check for $1500.00. I called the magazine company in New york and asked if this company was in good standing, the editor said it was! Her name is Susan Rakowski and her phone number is 212-807-7100 so after hearing that it was okay I sent a money order for $33.00 to Laura Johnson Co. 1465 Woodbury Avenue suite 380 Portsmouth NH 03801

A few weeks went buy so i tryed looking them up on the internet but no listing! I tryed the phone directory but no listing! So I called the magazine and told them I have not recieved that information yet and I think ive been ripped off, but the editor told me she would call the advertiser and find out where my order was. Two days later I get a letter from Laura Johnson Co telling me that it was shipped and that if I diden't get it its not there problem that I should have paid for registard mail and that there was nothing they could do!

I got upset! So I call the editor again and told her the registard mail was not an option or any type or insurance was offered on the ad! She said she would call them and have them call me, im still waiting! So I called the post office in Portsmouth and I spoke to the mail man that works that route. He told me at that address was a post office box rental business and there is nobody there!

This company placed a P. O box address as a suite, I also learned that this company is not a registard company and dosent have a tax ID number! I also learned that this company is not in New Hampshire the mail is forward to them for an extra fee they pay the post box company! Im filing a mail fraud complaint with the post office today and im filing a small claims against Small business opportunity magazine and Laura Johnson!

Small business opportunity is responsible because they should request a copy of a tax ID number from any business placing ads! This would control mail fraud! Don't buy Small business opportunity magazine and dont respond to any ad's placed there because you risk getting ripped off and the publisher will not help you!
