Ripoff fraudulent low-morales does not keep promises scam $50 coupons timeshare gifts

Education & Science

First of all I am not a complainer, and it takes a lot to make me upset; however, this company has succeeded in doing just that. I believe they are a big ripoff company, with low morale standards. Upon reading these other reports, I find I'm not alone.

In March my family and I went for a timeshare seminar, and was offered these "gifts" for attending (we didn't ask for them). They were $50 worth of gas, and $50 worth of dining. Of the $100 promised, I have only recieved $10 of it. It probably has cost me the $10 in long distance phone calls, and stamps I had to provide them each time I mailed in a certificate (you can't get through on the toll free number, and put on hold for long periods of time on the long distance number).

I have called several times since March and have had heard many different "canned" excuses. I've heard everything from, "you didn't follow the directions exactly" (which I know I followed the directions perfectly, double checked, etc), "a manager will call you back tomorrow" (still waiting for the phone calls), "We will be sending your check out to you on Monday", (check never came), "Your letter was postmarked too late (not true - I sent it 10 days earlier than it needed to be), and the latest one: "We don't have an email address" when I asked to email manager regarding problem (not true, I've emailed both Lisa, "customer service" and Farris, "manager" in the past), among other excuses. So I'm sure the receptionists are given "canned" responses to use on phone inquiries.

When I did get a hold of manager (I think it was by accident that I got him), he told me that I was probably trying to get "something for nothing." I'm an honest person, and truly that would not be true of me. I feel sorry for the receptionists who probably get most of the slack from other angry customers (it seems to be a different receptionist each time you call - must be a high turn over rate). So, I do give up, they win (which is something they hope most people do); however I am reporting this company to warn others of them. I will not do anything that deals with AM Eagle again.
