Mwi Connections
Deal pass ripoff - has taken 12.95 from my bank acct for past 2 months

Education & Science

My fiance's bank statement for January had a charge of 12.95 taken by MWI Connections. She called the bank and informed them that it was a bogus charge and requested that this money be returned to her account. She also requested that any future charges from MWI not be honored.

The bank employee said that he would check into it and get back to her about returning the money, and that any future charges by that company would be ignored.

Well, the bank never got back to her, the money was not returned, and her request was ignored. It really seems that today's banking industry caters to business and just puts up with the average citizen.

It seems to me that if the banking industry continues down this path we will see more companies like MWI ripping off the public.

Thank God fot the internet, because I found out what services the company provided, and I also found that we were not the only people being ripped off!

We never heard of this company, and never signed up for service. I do have a theory that I will share to see if it rings some bells in the heads of the other victims.

In December we ordered a Jack LaLane Juicer from an informercial, and payed for it with our bank debit card. That same month, we also ordered some coins from the Shop At Home Network, and used the debit card. We had never done this type of thing before, and it would be the only way a shady company could have gotten hold of our personal information.

I am positive that Mr LaLane and Shop At Home are above board and not involved, but it would seem that there was an information leak somewhere along the line.

Besides filing this report, I am going to visit our bank and try to get some answers and some sort of commitment from them. I am going to try to get in touch with MWI amd find out when I signed up for their service and try to quit the membership.

I have also heard that the state of California is in the process of starting some sort of legal action against MWI. If this is true, I will actively take that path to pursue my issues with MWI.

I am sure that the average citizen feels much the same way that I feel about our inadequat financial institutions. We entrust them with our money and pay them to keep track of our accounts. It would just seem to me that a bank should listen when a customer has a legitimate problem. And if a customer requests that a company be restricted from extracting any funds from that customer's account, the bank should be more than happy to honor that request.
