Failed to mention pertinent inmformation prior to making my final decision

I had been contacted by this company via an e mail.

"I have a signifificant number of clients who are looking for a reputable mortgage company on the web, and I am seeking one firm to send them to. (On a nationwide basis, we send our people seeking home loans to Lending Tree. I seek a more local compnay to send my clients to.)

Can you assist me, or barring that can you send me someone who can? I check my emails only once daily so it's a good idea to call as opposed to emailing me."

Because of always looking for new ways to increase & improve business I contacted this company.

I signed up with this company for key words phrases in the mortgage industry & for the state of TN. I was given the sales pitch follows:

The customer is on the internet & inputs through the search bar a phrase such as Tennessee mortgages and instantly my website would be brought up first. The sales person did an example but prior to the example I had to download an upgrade of explorer. The catch is this program will only work if the customer upgrades this version of internet explorer. I sent a check in the amount of $4,000.00. At no timne did the sales person indicate the customer had to download an upgrade of internet explorer.

Of course, after the holidays when I went on the internet & tired to duplicate exactly what we had done without the download, guess what no direction to my company as had been explained by the sales person.

I consider myself an above average intelligent person, & in this situation was duped big time!!!

I have decided to turn this over to my attorney & see what recourse I have if any or did I just learn a very expensive lesson.
