International Library Of Poets
Am I really that nieve? Guess so!

Education & Science

I too entered the contest and was told I had written a good poem and it was to be published. I finally got the book, that was supposed to come out Summer (it's January), though they had changed the title, which they said could happen. (I too, paid fifty dollars each for 2 copies. Went on EBAY and found the same book, the same day I got mine in the mail, for TWO DOLLARS. Felt stupid, to say the least.)

I also got the letter from Noble House and told them, "Yes, go for it." Also paid for one copy from them. That book is to be out next month, supposedly. Will see.

I got the letter about the Summer Symposium where I would receive a silver cup, IF I ATTENDED THE SYMPOSIUM. (Why would I not get it whether I showed up or not? No answer to that from them.) I was so tickled to see my poem on the first page of the book that I decided to plan to attend the Spring Symposium in Orlando in March. Am really starting to wonder about that now.

Friends and family have asked if I would get any type of royalties, and I stare at them with a blank look on my face. I admiteddly never thought to ask about it. (Feeling stupid again.)

I have been writing poetry for many years and had finally gotten the nerve to let someone read one of them. (My family doesn't even get to do that.) Now I almost feel like I should never have done so.

I didn't think about royalties, or such when I submitted my poem. And I didn't think much of it when I had to pay for my personnal copies of the book (s). My fault, but I'm not the only one who wanted to see my name in print in a book.

Has anyone form Poetry.com said anything to the contrary of what I've been reading on this site. If so, I would love to read it. If I don't like their response, I'll cancel what plans I've made for Florida.
