Stephen Miles RN, Course Director Class paid for and taken, we certificate/card issued, now they are out of buisness

Education & Science

I signed up for, and took a PALS class from this company in Orlando, FL on 08/08. That day after completing the course they gave me a certificate of completion, which covers you for a month until they can get your card printed and mailed out to you. After this class I went home, etc. And waited 4 weeks before I contacted them as my card has not shown up. Called them in Sept. And they still answered the phone because they were not out of business at that time, yet. They looked me up in their computer system, and stated that they were going to send another one because they sent the first card out 2 weeks ago, and I should have received it by that time already.

The card still never showed up, after I gave them a couple of weeks to get the second card out to me. When I tried calling them again I got the "this line has been disconnected, and is no longer in service". I then went to check out their website, and that also has been deleted and the web address pulls up a domain name for sale. So I have now paid $300 for a course that I don't have a card for. I have been on the phone with American Heart and have not yet received a phone call back from them yet.

So in short they took my money, and provided a class that I have no certificate for, and I need it to prove I have the certification for my Paramedic license renewal. There were other people in the class, unfortunately I don't know any of them. Has anyone else had this problem? The AHA said that they couldn't find them on the approved training center list, are they even really a legit company? I would really like my money returned or my card. Does anyone have any contact info that isn't disconnected, or is in service?

I would say save your time and money and go somewhere else but they are not in business anymore, so that won't be a problem. This company was horrable and made the right move by closing. However you would think that they would get done what needed to be done before they shut the doors. You can also look on the BBB website for this company and post a complaint. They are not a member of the BBB (huge surprise there), but you can file a complaint with them and see if they can do anything more we as jacked consumers can do). 3-4 other people have filed complaints through the BBB website, which also has their address listed as well.
