Ripoff

Everyone, I have a $77 balance due to Palisades Collection Agency. I found out only when my credit report was run when I was applying for a job with a financial services company. I caled the number provided to me by Choicepoint 1-800-425-0006. Since it was after 5pm, all I got was an answering machine that simply said, "Thank You for calling, our offices are closed at the present time, please call back during our normal business hours of 8AM - 5Pm Eastern standard time. HMMMM! The company does not even identify itself on it's voice mail. I'm already suspicious. So I conduct a google search of this company, and low and behold, the only website that even mentions this company is this one, where people vent about how they are being ripped off and their credits ruined by this agency. It all sounds like people are complaining about the same thing, fraudulent bills from AT&T.

I called a phone number left by another poster 1 866 877 0008 which according to a heavy accented middle eastern voice on the other side of the phone belonged to yet another company who works for Palisades called RCS Center Corp, and was told it was from a phone bill by, you guessed it AT&T that was charged off on 4/25. I'm sure it's bogus, but I was able to get an address from AT&T where I can request an itemized bill.
