TutorJam
Over Charging

Education & Science

On February 13th, I Contacted TutarJam on the phone to purchase a single month of Tutoring. They told me they had two packages, something link 5 hours a month and 10 hours a month. I do not recall the amounts. I said we needed more time and want close to 15 hours. We settled on a price of 199.00 for the one time 15 hour purchase.

The tutors were not what we expected. Difficult Accents, and not able to solve many of the problems. Since we could not get a refund, we finished out trying to get whatever help we could, and just chalked it up to a bad experience.

On March 13th I noticed TutorJam charged me another 229.99 on March 13th. I called and asked why they made that charge, as I did not authorize it. They told me if I did not want the service I needed to cancel 48hours before the term ends. I informed them I did not understand what they were referring too. I only bought 15 hours of service. I did not buy a program of services. The individual read a script to me and repeating their position. They then went on to tell me that if I wanted to cancel I had to do it in writing, using their form, as nothing else would be accepted. I repeated that there was nothing to cancel, I did not purchase additional services. Furthermore their form states that by signing it I agree I would not ask for a refund. Which was unacceptable. I told them to stop charging my account and asked them to refund my 229.99

On April 13th, they Charged me again. At this point I reach out to find an attorney to assist. On May 11th, E.R. Mousa, P.A. Forwarded the letter that I have included.

I have noticed many other people having similar experiences. My advice. Run unless you want to join me with many problems to come.
