Ripped off and works people for free, scam & lousy care

I applied for a job as they had a sign out front for a pre-k teacher wanted. I called my former employer who was the owner and i had worked for over 4 years. They reccomended them, i even had them call ahead for me without asking and so when i did go in, dawn said she would like to start me later on to observe the group. I stayed 3 hours.

I was then asked to come back the next day as another person was also very qualified. I was told i would work 8 hours with-out pay. Well, i figured it was ok as this would give me a good idea of the school.

As the day went on, dawn the owner wasnt even there. The aid also left me alone with the group of 2o kids! So nobody even knew me, had no background on me and i ran the group. 5 hours later dawn came in and said i could go home. But she would let me know. Well at that time i also had stated that i knew yfa, the staff and while we were talking, an employee of yfa (state fundind) called and also said she knew i was great. That makes 2 very good referances.

Well dawn said she would call that evening. I ended up calling dawn the next day. She said she had to go with someone else. So i feel what happened was she herself had been in the group while looking for a teacher all along knowing that while i was there, she didnt have to.
I feel it was a scam to get a few of us to watch kids at a free rate and not pay. I figure from the other staff gossip that she saved about $165.00 those 3 days. 2 days were me.

The care was not that great and the safety of the kids was in not good. She did not know me., had nothing to screen me and with a ba.in early childhood, i am more than qualiified but she doesnt know this. If this is ongoing, then all the parents need to know that "anybody" is watching thier kids. And they pay for that service? I have also noticed the sign out again twice. Hmmm?

Is this to save payroll. Quite sure it is. And then of course, the head of daycare licensing is a dodo as we all know she dont do much. And i have heard from other teachers that when the white volvo drives up, the staff scatter to get the correct ratios in the rooms. And then just for that one hour 2 times a yaer if that, all is ok and she leaves. I say the younger groups over ratio while at just kidz. Our group was not but close.

All parents need to have a heads up on this scamming daycare. You dont always get what you pay for and childcare is one of them. Your kids are at risk with strangers. If you see a new person, ask for thier credentials. Its your right as a parent. Nobody asked me!!! Stupid me to work for free 2 days.
Never again. I have since been hired in a great school and have the 4 year olds. They are reputable and have never asked me to work for free. The care is great.

Watch out for the possible scamming at just kidz preschool.
