I purchased cell phone service in November 26 the day before Thanksgiving. The plan was for 149.99 unlimited service. I was told I had 30 days to try the service out.

I went to Seattle and came back the service was poor so on about Dec. 18 I advised Nextel I wanted to cancel. They had in November taken a charged my visa card $200.00 for a deposit. I received a bill in early December for $380.00 approx. I was shocked. I went to the company that provided the service and complained and they advised that I had 30 days to cancel.

They said that the fees are usually excessive for the first bill. I advised I did not want the service. I contacted Nextel and was advised that I only had 15 days to cancel and therefore I would be billed $200.00 for early termination and $300.00 plus for less than 1 month of service.

I contacted the customer service dept and was not given any help with the reduction of the bill. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and they never received a answer back from Nextel so they closed the case.

I think $500.00 plus is too much for less than 1 month service. Can you help me. They still have not given any credit for less than 1 month service.

Please respond asap. They have placed this collections and placed on my credit report.
