Merchants Interstate, Refusal to cancel contract though medical documentation given

I faxed a letter to Merchants on 9/29/08, along with medical documentation, to cancel a karate contract for my son. I spoke with a rep there today, and was told that the account was not current, and they could not cancel the account until it had been brought current. I was also informed that until the account was brought current, that monthly fees would continue to accumulate, THOUGH they have received my cancellation documentation.
