University Of Phoenix
Charged me for being enrolled for 2 days Phoeniz

Education & Science

The university of Phoenix was first, I thought, was very pushy. I continued with enrollment anyways. Throughout the enrollment process, I was lied to about 3 times if not more. The counsleor called me on the first day my class was to start and had me to post a biography of myself. The next day I informed the advisor, counselor, and financial aid rep that I had to withdraw for personal reasons, and that I would try to come back in about 3 months.

I was then told by a student counselor that I would not be charged because my papers were not processed. She said evrything was good to go if I returned. She told me not to worry about any charges because absolutly nothing was processed. My husband heard her tell me this.

I then recieved a bill stating that I owed a high amount because I had posted an assignment (which was the biography that the counselor made me post).
I was also lied to about the amount of time it would take me to graduate from the school 3 times. When I asked her about this after she told me a different time the 3rd time she said "sorry about that". That was it.

I was told that the classes would transfer. Well, I checked into other colleges and asked them if any credit from the university of phoenix would transfer over and they said that they do not accept any credits from the university of phoenix and most colleges will not accept anything from the UoP. I spoke with 5 other colleges to see if they would accept them and they would not. The UoP may transfer the credits, but you have to find a college that might take them.

I was also lied to about not being charged for anything. I even have a witness (my husband) who heard her tell me that. I just got on the phone with her and my husband walks in from work and sat on the couch waiting for me to get off the phone so he could talk to me. While he was sitting there he could hear everything she said because of speaker phone. I sometimes use speaker phone if I am taking information from someone I am talking to or if someone is guiding me through something I have use of both hands.

I was lied to many times from the counselor at the University of Phoenix. So I would like people who have had the same experience to get ahold of me, because I am going to be getting ahold of the media local and national, as well as filing a report with the Attorney Generals Office. I would also like for anyone who has been lied to from the UoP to file a report with the Attorney Generals Office in their state and in Arizona.

I am contacting the local media in my state and in arizona. I am also contacting the national media. I will also be filing a report with the BBB.

I would suggest anybody to do the same that has had a bad experience with them to let the public know how UoP works. So that others can make a sound decision on wether to attend or not. People should have the whole story, not just what they are pushed into when they call.

I also tried to get ahold of the finacial advisor many times and no return phone calls, and no return e-mails. When asked to be transfered to someone, it was always " they are away from the desk or on another line". I left many messages, but no return phone calls.
