Bogus Charges, Horrible Service, A Complete Nightmare!

I attended 1 full quarter at ITT Technical Institute, and only returned for 5 days of the following quarter before withdrawing. I had taken out loans to pay for it. Since I withdrew during the "Grace Period", the school had to return all the loan money for the second quarter. I am fully aware that I am responsible for the loans I used for the first quarter, and fully intend on paying it.

ITT Tech then informed me that I owe them, the school, $3500 for the second quarter. That's $700 per day that they were claiming I owed them! I called and spoke to the financial aid guy, who was very rude and could not explain why I owed them any money. He said he would send me something that would explain it.

I never got it... I did, however, get a nasty letter saying I had refused to contact them about my debt. It also said there had been a problem with one of my loans, but gave no explanation of what that problem was... And I'm still receiving statements from Sallie Mae which mention nothing of any problems.

Today I got a letter from a Collection Agency stating that I now owe ITT Tech almost $7000. My loans from Sallie Mae total over $3000, add the $7000 the school is now claiming I owe them and that's more than $10,000... For ONE QUARTER!!!

I can not believe how much of a rip off this place is! The classes are absolutely ridiculous, the instructors are terrible, and the curriculum is awful! One of the classes I had during the second quarter was "Audio / Video Techniques". I had been looking forward to that class because I enjoy making videos.

Well, lo and behold... There's NO CAMERAS! The whole class was going to be strictly from a text book. The instructor explained to us that there were only 3 working video cameras in the school... And that wasn't enough to go around for our class. He asked if anyone had one they could bring so we could use! As much money as they charge to go there you would think they could afford some cameras! That was the main reason I withdrew... I knew something wasn't right!

I have been looking online to see if I could find any information about what kind of lawyer to contact to get these people off my back. I think there needs to be a HUGE Class Action Lawsuit against them, because I'm certain that I am not the first, nor will I be the last, person to get screwed over by them!
