I'm in the UK. Emusic have been debiting my CreditCard. Can anyone help? Internet

Hi everyone.

Well sadly, mine's a very familiar story. I pretty much paid off the full balance of a Credit Card last month and haven't used it since. When this month's statement appeared I saw that 8.99 had appeared on it. Hmmmm. Something fishy's going on there, I thought, and I'm afraid I was right.:- (

I rang the Credit Card (Halifax), and the lady I spoke to noticed that the same amount has been coming out for 7 months now! Arghh! I feel stupid that I hadn't noticed. I'm normally pretty good at keeping track of everything!

The Halifax lady had a look on Emusic's website, and said I needed to go on to it and cancel the account. She said she can't do anything about it her end, but if I have any more problems, to get back to her.

I have just written Emusic a rather strong e-mail, asking for all the money they have taken without my say so (62.93) to be refunded immediately. I've recieved an automated response, so it'll be interesting to see whether I actually get a personal response from anyone! I somehow doubt it!

I will also (right this minute!) cancel the Emusic account if I can, but I'm very twitchy about the fact that they ask for the last 8 digits of my Credit Card, and also my e-mail address.
Having said that, I'm about to cancel the Credit Card anyway, as I don't use that one any more!:-)

I have no idea how Emusic got my details.
I'm sure I have NEVER have given my Credit Card details out on the internet unless I was buying something, and I certainly haven't ever bought anything from Emusic.
I may possibly have registered with them for free downloads at some point, but I can't actually remember doing that, and have never downloaded anything from them.

I see that most people on here are from the US. I would really appreciate hearing from other people in the UK that this has happened to, with any advice they may have as to getting my Credit Card to help me get my money back!
