Ripped scam

I was sent an offer in the mail and replied by sending the $49 processing fee to get the credit card. Of coarse I had filed bankruptcy recently.

I would like to know how I can stop them from doing this again to others. And since I probably will not get my money back, what would be my next coarse of action?

This has never happened to me before and now I am scared. I am going to change my checking account because of this since I paid by check.

I have read that this could be a wise choice. I am not sure. Please let me know I can do next.
