Another Victim to this Dishonest Company

Instead of rewriting I just pasted the letter I am sending to the company:

In October a representative from your company came to my door and presented me with a sales pitch for Universal Gas and Electric. He assured me that your company would protect me from rising gas prices by keeping my unit charge at a fixed rate. I posed the question to him of what happens when the market rate is below the fixed rate. Will I pay the market price or will I pay the higher fixed rate?

Your representative, in the presence of 3 other witnesses who happened to be standing next to me at the time of his visit stated if the rate is lower than the fixed rate you pay the lower rate. This program assures you will never pay over the fixed rate if the market rate increases. And, your current bill will not increase It was this blatant misuse of the truth that coursed me to sign up for your companies program.

Now, it is true that after your representative left another representative from your company called me to verify that I wanted to sign up for your program And yes I did verify that it was my intention sign up for your service. I guess it was my own ignorance that I did not repeat the entire 15 minute conversation again with the man on the phone as I had just had with the man at my door.

However, I did not expect that I had just received lies from the man coming to my door representing your company. But, that is exactly what I did receive. I consider myself an educated person as most would around me. I can assure you that I would have NEVER signed up for a program that presented itself as one that would cost me money to be apart of and that did not have any guarantee of savings.

I understand the guarantee of what happens if the market rate increases. However, one would be a fool to agree to this program under true pretenses knowing that the future cannot be predicted to any certainty and that you may end up paying a higher rate for the entire 5 years of the program. I guess in this case the lies that were presented to me turned me into a fool.

I now sit here 3 months later looking at an energy bill where your company charged me almost $. 30 over the market rate. Due to my neglect of not double-checking into your company, which calls itself reputable, but has proven to be anything but, I wish to cancel my agreement with you. It is with dishonesty that you lured me into your clientele and it is my hope that other patrons are not swindled into your companies unethical ways of doing business. Rest assured knowing I will do my part to assure I educate those around me of the scam I have fallen into involving your company.
