Ripoff consumer rip-off fraud

I am a secretary at a business. I am in charge of ordering supplies. Steve from Omega Office Supply contacted me at my office and informed me that our Lanier toner was going up to $409 from $349. This price did alarm me at first, but my boss provides the funds so I decided to have Steve fax me over an order confirmation for my boss to sign.

A little while later Chris called to verify our address. She gave me our address and it was correct. I was also alarmed by her attitude and horrible customer service. After I told her that I can't make purchases on my own and Steve was to fax me an order confirmation to sign, she got defensive and said, "I don't understand you said you can't make purchases why is Steve faxing this, by signing this you are making a purchase." Now as someone with a college education (myself) I hung up on her because I am the customer and I should not have to explain how I was to have my boss sign.

Well Steve faxed me the order confirmation and I showed my boss who was also alarmed at this price. I then decided to do a little research and found that our toner only costs $65. I then faxed them back saying that I am not interested and also left a message on their voicemail. I also came here and found another report just like my situation. I alerted the Culver City chamber of commerce on these pigs and hope I will save another secretary's butt. This scam really got to me because they called when I was really busy so I didn't have time to think and I am unaware of pricing for supplies here. I hope these pigs get caught and thrown in jail.
