JFYC took 110.00 out of my checkings unauthorized, they did not even have the right name on the account

On Friday, August 17, I called my banks 24 hour banking number to check on my account, to my surprise, my account was 110.00 less. I immediately got online to check out my online statement and found a check #1 in the amount of 110.00 made out to jfyc. I am not one that keeps my check book in tact. So I was unsure about this.

After researching and calling the bank, I was able to see that this was a scam. I had to go to my bank and sign some papers and they immediately put the money back in my account.

Here is the thing, the check did not even have my correct last name. It should not have went through with out verification of the name. Also I do not know how they got my account number, I do not do checks online or on the phone. I use my check card when paying bills not my checkings account number. So how are they able to access my account number?

One more thing, I checked my account this morning, and there has been a deposit of 110.00 made to my account. This was not the bank giving me back my money. They did that on friday. They could not pull up the document for the deposit online yet. I know this is a deposit, and at least no money is taken out, but I just don't like the idea of someone being able to access my account this easily.

Your bank accounts are your private business. Noone should have access to them accept you. It is a violation of privacy and this company needs to be stopped and I hope they do get stopped before they attack someone else.
