J.P. Morgan Chase Rip off by inflated APR

I have a really good credit history. Never missed any payment in my whole life and got close to perfect credit history right now. Last year I lost my job and got a little short on money so had to use my chase credit card. Four months after that I got a letter from chase telling me that my APR has gone up from 7.99% to 23.99%, It was hard to believe and I was pretty sure there is been some mistake since I was still making the minimum payments. I called them and was told that there is no mistake, that is the APR I should be getting. Not only this, they started charging that interest on the whole outstanding balance. Not to mention, my other credit cards like BOA continued to give me 5.99% APR even though I was up to 75% of my credit limit on those cards. 2 months after that, I got another letter from chase telling me that my APR has gone up to 30%, again without any particular reason.

The bottom line is if you want to keep the credit cards for the rainy days like most of the people never go for Chase. Once you are in need of money, they will RIP YOU OFF really bad.
