Liars, Liars, Liars, help me decide what to do next ripoff

I too have experienced lies by Brandon the manager at the Louisville store. I made a recent purchase on my layaway and wanted the furniture delivered in about a week to arrive right after my new carpet had been installed. I was told that it would take 4 weeks to get my couch and love seat. I was told I could pick something else out from the warehouse floor but I choose my specific one to match the colors of my new paint and carpet.

I wanted to know why it takes 4 weeks and I was told it comes from Ohio and they have to meet a minimum requirement to get items shipped. I wanted to just cancel my layaway. I was first told by Brandon that I could not cancel and could use my money only in the store. When I read back exactly what my contract from American Freight said, he changed his tune and said there is a 20% restocking fee. Restocking fee for what? You don't have it in stock! That is exactly what you told me.

I was told on previous layaway payments that if I didn't make a payment at least every 2 weeks, my couch and loveseat may be obsolete and I could not get that syle anymore. That does not sound like it is being kept in stock to me. It sounds like they build them to order which makes more sense of the 4 week waiting period. I am trying now to decide what to do. If I in fact cancel the whole order, get my money back which is now over half of the total, I feel it unfair to pay a restocking fee for something that is not stocked.

If I keep it on order, I will have to pay it off and then wait up to 4 weeks, maybe longer after reading complaints here on this site about delivery problems, it may even show up damaged! I would rather just have my entire balance returned to me and forget I ever tried to save money using this place.

I think anything stated in their "contract" should be null and void after being lied to, after all, if they will lie about one thing, what's to stop them from lying about anything else? It' just is not worth being lied to.

Will someone please respond and tell me the best way of settling this?
