Stealing subscriptions, cashing checks, and not delivering. Will not reply to calls. Ripoff

This company appears to steal subscriptions from other magazines, takes the money, and then shows no reponse to letters or phone calls. They cashed my check in Dec '06, but never got a magazine.

I even wrote Charles Martin, Collection Manager of Playboy in Harlan, IA to warn him about the scam or to investigate the subscription theft. But, I didn't want to renew with them until I knew whether I was getting what I paid for thru Coastal Marketing Services. Charles Martin kept sending me renewal notices, but he would not respond to my letter to him either. I guess he doesn't care if somebody is stealing his business from Playboy.

I have called the toll free number at Coastal Marketing Services every other day since early June '07. Only the answering machine responds by asking for a call-back number. However, nobody ever returns a call. They took my money and never sent the first magazine.

I checked the internet White Pages, Yellow Pages, and Yahoo people finder. Seems like the address no longer exists and nobody works there. But, somebody had to be accountable for the postal mailbox, because the mail never "returned to sender." The phone number appears to be active and accountable to somebody. Who? Somebody had to pay the printing costs to send the subscription envelopes and mailers. Who?

Maybe they had a fire and the building burned down. But, this 25 years subscriber to the best gentlemen magazine in the world has come to a halt unless there is a legitimate answer. Sorry Mr. Hefner, but your representative in Iowa did not seem to care about your product, his job, or my interest.
