My mother recieved a check for $3,950.00 dated for 06/27/07, along with a letter that stated they had attempted numerous times to contact her by phone.in this letter it says that thier network center shows you as the lucky winner of unclaimed prize money in the amout of $45,800.00 USD. They system indicates that you were selected as a winner for the north american sweepstakes draw.

All particpants were selected through a computer ballott system drawn from readers digest publishers clearing house, computer games, sweepstakes data base, are from australia, new zealand, europe, north and south america, south africa and asia, as this is our international promotions programs, which is conducted monthly. CONGRATULATIONS!

Enclosed is a check of $3,950.00 USD. Payable to you and it must be deposited into your bank account immediatly to pay for your lotto, sweepstakes winning taxes with the states lottery and gaiming commision agency, which must be paid before we can release your remaining balance in the amount of $41,850.00 excluding 5% handling charges in the amount of $2,092.50 deducted from your total winnings.

Please be advised that under federal and International laws regarding personal collection of cash prizes, prize money is released upon payment of any of any applicable taxes and release fees. When the necessary taxes have been deducted, the balance of your winnings will be mailed to you in the form of a certified check or release through a local bank in your area that we work with.

What got me is why would you have to pay taxes before money is recieved. I have won money and have known that the tax fee is after recieving. I'm glad that I had talked this over with a friend who had gotten on the web and found this sight. This would of been a death warrent to my mother.
