National Association Credit Services (NACS)
National Association Credit Services, NACS Re establish Your Credit Fraud

Education & Science

I was contacted at home by a man who indicated I was prequalified for a $2,500 credit card limit, with no annual fee, and an APR of 6.9%. Of course, this got my attention so I listened further. He indicated I was currently re-establishing my credit, was that not correct? I said yes, that I was in a way re-establishing my credit. (I had claimed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1994.) After a short conversation, he claimed he would turn me over to a credit representative. A woman came on the line and started to confirm my address, phone, and wanted my bank account number.

I became suspicious and started asking questions like: Is this a MasterCard or VISA? Was this for a actual credit card with limit of $2,500 or a card for merchandise? Two cards: one a merchandise card and one a credit card, either MasterCard or VISA. No annual fee on either? How in the world did their company [and I asked for the specific name again] make their money on a such a low APR with such a high limit? She indicated they made their money on the interest and that they made money on the purchases through the merchandise purchased [she started throwing department store names around like Sears, Mervyn's, etc.] I said I'd like to find out more information but that I wouldn't give out my checking account number to her. Would she give me a phone number to call her back. She said, "We're on the web. You can get all the phone numbers to contact us there. We're at www.nacs.com."

Now she couldn't know that on my phone I can dial *69 and even for long distance calls, my system will give me the phone number of the last caller. And that's just what I did. 727-287-3417 was the number I got. Of course, I immediately called the number and after trying again this morning got the same result: busy.

Now, after I've punched in the website, instead of getting the National Association Credit Services, I get Northamptonshire Aerobics Centres & Sports page - a very attractive Health-Club.net section but NOT who I expected. I did a search for National Association Credit Services and got this wonderful web page.

So beware, my fellow Americans, these people must really be dedicated to ripping off the American public. Shame on them.
