I ordered a Nikon Coolpix L12 camera on Thursday, May 3, on which they had the lowest advertised price, and received an email shortly thereafter asking me to call within 24 hours to confirm. They then tried to sell me everything from memory to batteries. When I steadfastly refused, I was told that it was a refurbished camera and that I really should buy a new one for $60 more.

When I told the salesman I could easily get a new one for $20 more, he said, "Oh yeah, then would you like me to cancel your order altogether?" I told him I did. Whether by coincidence or not, 2 days later a phony charge for $505.44 from the U.S. Postal Service showed up on the same charge card. I'm not accusing them, but it was quite a coincidence!
