Is a rip-off

I got a yellow postcard in the mail that stated I had not activated my card, which had a $4,000 credit limit. The postcard had my address but in an uncommon manner. This was suspect immediately, since I had not received a card or filled out an application with American Credit Solutions. Being a Webmaster, my first sorce of information is always the Internet and thankfully I found this site so I won't be calling to "activate" my card.

The funny thing is that just 2 days ago I got a phone call that sounded just as suspect. The person calling me said that they wanted to give me a credit card with a $2,500 limit and needed my bank account info to charge a processing fee of (I believe it was) $221. I asked for the name of the company and she told me it was Global Financial. I told her I did not remember applying for this card and was told that I had applied for some sort of credit in the past 12 months and that's why they were calling me.

She wanted to verify some information, including my address, which she read in the same odd manner as the card I just received. When I asked for a website, the woman did not know if they ad a website, big red flag. Fortunately, I did not agree to receive the card or give out any information. I did, however, ask her to send me a copy of the terms and then I would call her back once I had a chance to review them. At this point she could not get off of the phone quick enough.

Does anyone know if these two companies are related in any way?
