Income Strategies Institute - Sid Sperry
Web hosting fees not disclosed and automatically charged to your credit card ripoff

Education & Science

I was solicited via mail to attend one of Sid's real estate seminars and decided to go. Sid goes through his whole deal on how his secrects can make you very wealthy, etc.

The whole time he keeps saying that his goal is to get you to go to his more extensive seminars on each topic which could cost up to $50k. Each. He said that the cost for the initial seminar was $20.00. For the $20.00, you would get a three day work shop that you could bring up to three friends at no additional cost.

Everything seemed to be good so I enrolled. He had his son and someone else in the back of the room collecting payment. I went up and paid via credit card and was given a receipt for the three day seminar. At no time during the entire discussion was the fact that you were signing up for the web hosting service disclosed to the audience.

Sid is a smart guy... Smart like Bill Clinton. He comes off as a great guy who's faith makes him want to "give back" to the community etc., but he is really after making money. I can't fault him for that, but I can fault him for his methods. If he were really a great guy who wanted to help people, he would tell everyone up front what they were paying for.

I've read the other reports and what is stated is accurate. You can cancel the fees, but you will have to pay for what you have already been charged. Do the math, one or two months from everyone who signs up... Solid cash flow Sid. Did they teach you that one in chruch or in the Bible?

The short of it is this: "My bad!" I didn't read the fine print on the contract. However, I feel safe in knowing that people get what is coming to them in the end. Business practices like this are decitful and he knows it. He will say, "Hey, you didn't read the contract, sorry." He should say, "I am the deceiver... Beware."

No matter what rebuttal anyone from the company puts up, the fact of the matter is simple: You could ask everyone who attended that seminar and they would all say the same thing, that they were never told that they were agreeing to pay $59.95/month for a web hosting fee when they signed up for the seminar. I'm sure that there is value in his real estate seminars, but if he is so focued on the quick buck, do you really want to pay big money to learn from a bandit?

Good luck Sid... May your efforts bear much fruit!
