Ripped Off by very sly individual (Brian Flynn) selling magazines and books to earn a trip through Integrity Program ripoff

On February 17th. A young man (Brian Flynn) who appeared to be in his early 20's came to my home and began telling me he was a student of the University of Georgia and was part of a program that was provided by the University to assist students with earning money to take trips. So forth and so on.

I invited him in and he showed me the list of books and magazines he had to offer. He told me that I could purchase some and have them sent to Our Troops or purchase some children's books and have them sent to a local Children's Hospital. He gave me the story that his parents lived about a block from me. He even gave the correct name of the street on which they supposedly lived.

I did really and truly think he was sincere. So I told him that I would purchase a set of books for my niece. The books supposedly were to consist of a set of 4 with CD-ROMs with them. The cost was $54.00. He also offered to come back later in the week and do some yardwork for my ordering the books. Said that I was to grade him on his presentation and respectful manner.

Like a dummy, I wrote a check. He in turn wanted to know if I wanted the books sent to my niece's home. I told him no he could just have them sent to my address. He then ppolitely thanked me for my time and then asked if I had something to drink that he could take with him. Well, little did I know at that particular point in time that it was such a scam from HELL.

My check was cashed and not for the amount originally written. It was altered and an additional 60 cents was added to the amount. I know 60 cents does not seem like a whole lot of money compared to what some have reported, but it is the principal of the point. Someone needs to put a stop to this gang of unruly, law breaking, snot nosed brats!
