Stolen Guns, pawn broker dealing in stolen merchandise, scumbags ripoff

Pete and Terry WIlson are running a scam on the citizens of Newark. They agree to take merchandise in exchange for a loan, ussually for 60-90days, they say. Ohio Law states that if you do not come in and pay the loan off, and retrieve your merchandise, the pawn broken may, after mailing you 30 days notice, keep it and do with it as they wish.

Pete and Terry don't wait the agreed amount of time, they don't send the notice, they don't take phone calls, and they don't stay open during the hours they have posted on the door.in affect they make it all but impossible to get your merchandise back.

We took in 3 guns, a 9mm ruger, a 45cal ruger and a 270 rifle, they were very nice, we purchased them new and took very good care of them. Around Christmas we took them in for a loan. We received 100.00 each for the handguns and 75.00 for the rifle and the promise that they would be held for 90 days. We knew the time must be getting close so my husband called on Saturday 3/3/07 and asked if they could look up his information and let him know when the guns were due. They refused and hung up on him.

SO he drove down to the shop, which was supposed to be open until 3:00pm. He arrived at 2:45pm, the doors were locked and the person inside the shop waved him away and said they were closed.

They are closed Sunday and Monday so he shows up Tuesday afternoon and asks again. Pete tells him that the guns went up for sale at 11:00am and that he can have them back if he pays for them. Only now instead of paying off the loan he wants almost $900.00 for the three.

Long story short, we have filed a claim in small claims court for the value of the guns, the local police wouldn't even take a report and the shop owners, Terry and Pete are refusing to sell the guns at all.
