We used United Movers to move us from Louisiana to Florida. We got a written estimate of 2198.00. After they moved all our things into a (RYDER) truck, they handed us a bill for 5126.00 and wanted half then and there.

Of course we were so shocked. They told us we went over footage in the truck, and they also used their boxes to pack our stuff in that was already packed in boxes from us!

They told us that our furniture was going to a storage in Atlanta until we paid the bill. Well of course we needed all our things, so my husbands company had to fork up the money.

When they finally delivered our things to us, just about every piece of our furniture was damaged, some furniture dont even have all the pieces so it can be out back together. Also, we have PLENTY missing items that have alot of value!!!

We tried calling united movers on several occasions to explain to them our situation. We were always told that a supervisor would call us back!!! (yeah right). Next, we took pictures of the damaged items, (made 2 sets) one for them and one for us, made a list of the missing items, and sent it to them certified..

They did receive the certified mail, that was 6-25-02, and to this date we have never heard a word from them... I reported them to the BBB, Movers Advocate, DOT, And also the FBI. I dont intend on letting this continue, I will do whatever I have to, to resolve this matter.

This highway robbery has to end. We all work so hard to get the things we have, and it is awful for people to do this. I really dont know how they can sleep at night... I guess they just have no HEART!!!
